Hello! A quick, small update on what’s going on. I’m pretty much finished with the coding part of my CS IA, now I’m on to (in my opinion) the most boring part, which is creating/editing all of the diagrams and tables for Crit B. I find that a few things end up changing throughout the development process which deviate from my original plans, and going back to tweak them is a hassle, honestly. I’m a doer, give me a plan and I’ll be more than happy to code whatever it is, but ask me to write a thorough plan with pseudocode… that’s what I scrunch up my nose at.
On a more fun note, this past weekend I purchased Detroit: Become Human and Cyberpunk 2077. I somehow summoned the time to spend 17 hours playing Cyberpunk 2077 this weekend, don’t ask me how. The flow state that the game induces is actually insane, time just becomes irrelevant. I haven’t played a game quite like it. And don’t even get me started on the music, I’m actively looping at least three songs from the radio volumes on a regular basis. DBH is incredibly interesting too, though I feel that it requires a more focused style of game-play (aka I can’t eat my dinner and play at the same time), since it can randomly spring time-sensitive dialogue options or actions that can drastically affect the outcome you receive for a particular scene. Cyberpunk 2077 is more chill in that sense, unless you’re in a fighting scene. The story in both games is amazing, I’m actually invested. I can’t wait to see how the characters in DBH develop over the course of the game and my actions. It is a nice break from my usual competitive games.
The first day of set building is today, and I’m excited to get back into doing that with my friends. It is a little sad I guess, my last spring musical set building. And I don’t have as much time to dedicate to it like I did in sophomore or junior year (45 hours in sophomore year just from the spring, my god), but I’ll make the most of it. I guess there is a certain nostalgia to it that I won’t get too sentimental about here. For the production crew, I’m the lighting board operator. I’ve been a spot op for two years prior. Funny, I somehow end up in positions that miss all of the action going on backstage. It is kind of hard to battle the feeling of FOMO, but at the end of the day all that matters is that the spring musical goes well.
I did get my first acceptance to college this past month, so things are going good in regards to university things. That just about wraps it up. I want to write more informative blog posts in the future, and maybe create a private “creative writing” section with a passkey. I’ve always been awkward about sharing my stories, so that’s why it’ll be locked behind a key for only specific individuals. I don’t know, some part of me feels like I’m sharing my soul when people read my writing. I feel awkwardly transparent. I mean, they do say that every character you create is a reflection of some part of you.
Thank you for reading! Until next time.
