Books

Here is a small collection of my favorite books! Not all of them, but the handful that I think are pretty memorable to me.

Deep Work - Cal Newport

A super eye-opening read about mastering skills and producing more output while having more time for other things in life. I really enjoyed this book because of the perspective it gave me on practicing focus, especially how the intensity of your focus affects the quality of your work. The principles in this book are applicable to almost every area of life and are not difficult to implement if you have the right motivations.

Four Thousand Weeks - Oliver Burkeman

This book is my bible. It is a wonderful mesh of philosophy and real-world stories that really put life into perspective for people who are caught up in thinking about the future all the time. This is the first book I've enjoyed almost as much as Harry Potter from third grade. I highly recommend it if you're looking for some fresh perspective.

Essentialism - Greg McKeown

I feel like Essentialism and Four Thousand Weeks are two sides of the same coin. Essentialism is also a great compliment to Deep Work, as it guides you in removing the nonessentials from your life to make room for progress in your top priorities. While it is slightly more on the business side, Essentialism is great for people who want more out of their life while busying themselves less.

Circe - Madeline Miller

Finally, a fiction book. I love Madeline Miller's writing style, and while I've seen some criticism for this book online, I still think it takes you on a nice journey through the eyes of an exlied goddess. If you know a thing or two about Greek mythology, this will be a fun read (if not, it is still good :]).
